          Rock Band 101

Looking for musicians on guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums who want the experience of collaborating with a group. Students will learn to play cover songs by ear. Class will culminate in a performance of an original song composed by the students.

          Jazz Ensemble

Learn to improvise while jamming with other talented musicians. All instruments welcome.

          Composition

Learn to write your own music, and receive guidance on songs you've already written. Class will culminate in performances of original compositions.

          Music Theory

Learn the fundamentals of how music is put together. Students will learn about rhythms and meter, major and minor scales, key signatures, intervals, and chords.

          Sight Singing

Beginning sight singing will teach the fundamentals of reading music while students learn to sing what's on the page without hearing it first. Students in intermediate sight singing will sing major and minor melodies with larger intervals and more difficult rhythms. Class will also incorporate ear training and interval recognition.

          Vocal Harmony

This class gives solo singer the opportunity to sing in a small a capella group. Students will learn to hold their own with only one person on a part, singing everything from rounds to barbershop, to the close harmonies of jazz.
